EXPERIENCE ACROSS SERVICES
Jodie has worked across classroom practice, school leadership and governance, youth work, residential care and children’s social care leadership.
Across each setting, she saw the same truth: children may not remember every programme intended to support them, but they often remember the adult who noticed, listened and continued to believe in them.
A view of the whole system
Supporting the adults who sustain the work
Jodie also saw the demands placed on the adults providing that support. Skilled, committed staff were carrying significant emotional pressure, often without the reflective support available in other helping professions.
One Safe Adult keeps children’s experience at the centre while recognising that adults need knowledge, reflection, appropriate boundaries and support to remain calm, consistent and relational.
Every child deserves one safe adult and every adult deserves the support needed to be that person consistently.
