About One Safe Adult

Built from what children remember.

WHY WE EXIST

Relationships are not a soft extra. They shape whether children can access everything else a school offers.

Why One Safe Adult was created

Schools are holding increasingly complex needs while many children and families face long waits for specialist support. At the same time, staff are being asked to carry more, respond to more and keep showing up, often without the reflective systems available in other helping professions.

One Safe Adult exists to help schools make meaningful relationships intentional, shared and sustainable, increasing the likelihood that every child can identify and access at least one safe adult.

What we do

We create evidence-informed online training and practical resources for schools. Our work helps teaching and non-teaching staff develop a shared, relationship-centred approach. It also recognises the support, boundaries and reflective capacity adults need to sustain that practice.

What makes us different

Attendance, behaviour, engagement, inclusion and SEND are often treated as separate challenges. We start with the relationships that shape how children experience the support around them. When children feel safe and that they belong, positive change becomes more possible. Supporting adult wellbeing is an enabling condition for sustaining that work consistently.
